Who we are

Restoring history with traditional craftsmanship.

With 45 years of experience, every project we undertake is more than just work; it’s a tribute to the enduring beauty of the past and a commitment to preserving it for the future. Perhaps the most rewarding part of my journey has been sharing these techniques with my son, ensuring that our family legacy of excellence continues to thrive.

Whether restoring a cherished antique or creating a custom piece from scratch, my approach is rooted in authenticity, quality, and an unwavering respect for the artistry of traditional techniques.

Each project reflects a deep commitment to quality and authenticity.

Our Restoration Process

First off it is important to take a good look at the piece under going restoration, taking note of how things work, look, and feel.

We then carefully dismantle the piece, checking each joint. Once the piece is dismantled, we then check the individual pieces over for any repairs needed e.g. broken timber, missing parts. Loose or missing veneers.

Once our repairs are made, we then piece it all back together and move into the preparation phase. Carefully and meticulously, we start the stripping and sanding process. Preparation is a key part of any restoration; it is important to make sure we have a nice clean surface to start our finishing stage. Depending on what our customers choose to finish their piece in we can start coating and polishing.

Once the polishing is complete its then onto the finishing touches, fitting the hardware. We will always use the original existing hardware if possible.
